Chaofei Bao
Chaofei is a research fellow in the Erlich lab. His research interest is to understand how goal-directed behaviors and choices are generated with neural networks by integrating different sources of information (e.g., outside world, emotional and motivational states).
Chaofei obtained his Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience from East China Normal University, China. During his Ph.D Chaofei investigated the neural mechanism underlying motivation impairment associated with chronic pain using animal behavior in conjunction with in vivo, in vitro electrophysiology and optogenetic approaches.
Chaofei is now exploring the neural mechanisms underlying risky decision-making using the techniques of animal behavioral training, optogenetics, in vivo electrophysiology and computational modeling.
