Mattias Horan
PhD Student
Mattias’s primary research focus has been on information sampling in non-human primates and the encoding of this in the oculomotor system, specifically in posterior parietal cortex. He carried out this work in Professor Jacqueline Gottlieb's lab at Columbia University.
Mattias holds an MD from the University of Southern Denmark. As part of a team at Odense University Hospital in Denmark, Mattias was the lead on a national, multi-center cohort of chronic pain patients, who were treated with invasive neurostimulation techniques.
He joined the SWC PhD programme in 2019. Mattias intends to pursue his basic neuroscience interest at SWC with an opportunity to integrate this knowledge with clinical efforts down the line.
