Konstantinos  Koukoutselos

Senior Research Fellow

Konstantinos joined the Branco Lab as a Research Associate at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre, where his work spans neuroscience and ethology. He leverages instinctive behaviours to explore the neural mechanisms underlying navigation and decision-making processes.

Before joining the SWC, Konstantinos completed his PhD in the Ciocchi Lab at the University of Bern’s Department of Physiology. His doctoral research focused on the role of the ventral hippocampus in the genesis and the anticipation of anxiogenic experiences by employing extracellular recording techniques and developing novel behavioural assays.

He holds an MRes in Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Maastricht and a BSc in Biology from Aristotle University.
